Paul Shrader, "The Walker", interview

Movies Online:

"I try not to be bored and I get bored easily so you find yourself trying to make a film that is a kind of character you haven’t seen before. I look at so many of these movies and I say, "How do they keep awake at work that day? They‘re just doing the same thing.” And so when you’re always trying to do something that feels like something you haven’t done or maybe no one’s done before, of course you keep interested but you also run the risk of working outside of the commercial conventions."
