Soundtrack

Because finding music for your film is more important than writing your film.

Swedish pop figures quite prominently in my formative years. I was too young for Abba and too cool for Roxette and Ace of Base but loved The Cardigans, Stakka Bo, Stina Nordenstam, The Wannadies, Millencolin, Soundtrack of Our Lives, The Hives and The Sounds.

I believe Sweden is still the third biggest music exporter after the USA and the UK and these are my current favourites who will be on the soundtrack to my movies.

El Perro Del Mar

It means "the dog of the sea" in Spanish but the sole member of the band is Sarah Assbring from Gothenburg. She has an amazing voice and it's a beautiful, enchanting album.

Peter Bjorn and John

"Young Folks" the lead single off the album and did quite well but the whole album is great and worth checking out.

Mando Diao

Moving further into rock territory with a hint of Oasis and The Libertines are this brilliant Borlange band.
